Air Tanzania Limited (ATCL ) attains IOSA registration.

AIR Tanzania Company Ltd (ATCL) has successfully attained IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration. The country's flag carrier has successful closed the IOSA audit to attain this certification approval.

With this certification ATCL  joins its regional peers on IOSA registry namely; Kenya Airways, Precision Air, RwandaAir and Ethiopian Airlines.

The IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) is the benchmark for global safety management in airlines. All IATA members are registered and must remain registered in order to maintain IATA membership.

The advantage of having IOSA certification is to increase business since passengers build confidence and trust to be flying into safe hands.

The certification is expected to boost ATCL business especially in the regional and international routes. And will also enable the country's flag carrier to enter into new joint ventures and code sharing easily.

In East African bloc, Kenya Airways was the first to attempt and win the certification. It was followed by Precision Air (PW) that attempted the IOSA certification without being a member of IATA in late 2000s and certified.

PW was first non-IATA member in Africa to attempt the certification and sailed through the audit successful.

Congratulations to ATCL  for this big achievement that marks the airlines global recognition.
