1. POSITION: APPRENTICE PRODUCTION PLANNING & CONTROL ENGINEER (1 POST)
REPORTS TO: MANAGER TECHNICAL SERVICES
DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM.

ROLE PURPOSE OF THE STATEMENT
To undertake a structured On-Job-Training (OJT) Program to Originate, plan for, implement, analyze and refine short and long term maintenance activities to meet Company Business, Civil Aviation Authority and Third Party requirements in the assigned area.
Upon successful completion of the Program the candidate will gain the required skills and knowledge to support the operational requirements of an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) and Airline Operator(s).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSBILITIES
 Complete a structured apprentice training program for one (1) year theoretical and OJT and acquire knowledge and skills on Aircraft Maintenance Production Planning and Control (PPC).
 Observing, learning and understanding Preparation and update of the aircraft Maintenance Programs for structures, systems and components to meet Civil Aviation Authority, Operational and Business requirements
 Participate in Preparation of short, medium and long terms maintenance requirement forecasts for Schedule/Network Planning and liaise with Maintenance Control Centre (MCC) / Operations Control Centre (OCC) for inputs on daily aircraft mayflies.
 Participate in the establishment of the Man-hours and Man-power required for the accomplishment of Scheduled Maintenance works and Gantt Charts for the Major checks.
 Participate in Planning for timely availability of required Tools and Materials for scheduled aircraft maintenance activities
 Participate in Planning and implementation of accomplishment of local modifications, service bulletins, airworthiness directives as called out by Engineering Development & Reliability for optimized cost whilst maintaining safety standards
 Participate in Preparation and submission to Maintenance the Work packages for accomplishing Scheduled Aircraft Maintenance works in consultation with system for timely, cost-effective work accomplishment to comply with Civil Aviation Authority and Manufacturer requirements
 Participate in Maintaining an effective Production Planning and Control system for major Hangar Maintenance activities with a reliable feedback system on work progress
 Monitor, control, evaluate and give feedback on work progress for aircraft and component maintenance for timely and cost effective accomplishment
 Prepare and maintain current aircraft maintenance records and modification status
 Coordinate with Line and Base Maintenance Duty Control Engineers regarding timely execution of Scheduled Maintenance checks and timely replacement of Time Expired Aircraft Components
 Ensure Aircraft hours are updated daily, routine and periodic checks are carried out on time and that all Hard Time Components are changed on time and properly documented.
 Ensuring Technical Records entries are appropriately entered and tallied.
 Maintaining a sound technical archive where all accomplished maintenance records are stored.
 Preparing the Certificate of Airworthiness Renewals by Civil Aviation Authority.
 Responsible for safety as referenced in the Safety Management Manual [SMM] Doc ref. PW/CM/002.
 Any other duty as assigned by supervisor

 Graduate from a recognized University (Mechanical, Aeronautical / Aerospace, Electrical / Electronics or equivalent) with at least one (1) year working experience in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering.
 Demonstrated ability during the course of attachments

 Detailed knowledge on the TCAA/EASA/FAA regulations and the Precision Air Engineering procedures
 Demonstrated competence in Engineering practices.

2. POSITION: APPRENTICE ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENT & RELIABILITY ENGINEER (1 POST)
REPORTS TO: MANAGER TECHNICAL SERVICES
DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM.

ROLE PURPOSE OF THE STATEMENT
To undertake a structured On-Job-Training (OJT) Program for development definition of engineering standards within his/her discipline in the company and Third Party fleets with a view of optimizing airline and customer aircraft product cost whilst maintaining safety standards.
Upon successful completion of the Program the candidate will gain the required skills and knowledge to support the operational requirements of an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) and Airline Operator(s).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSBILITIES
 Complete a structured apprentice training program for one (1) year theoretical and OJT and acquire knowledge and skills on Engineering Development and Reliability.
 Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of Defining technical standards for optimized aircraft product cost of ownership and safety
 To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently or with a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the department.
 Work with Development and Reliability Engineer to perform statistical analysis and root cause analysis of failures of aircraft systems, components, power plants and structures to improve management of airworthiness and maintenance cost.
 Ensure regulatory authorities airworthiness directives (ADs); manufacturer’s service bulletins (SBs), service information letters (SILs) are accomplished at optimized cost whilst maintaining safety standards.
 Work with Development and Reliability Engineer to Prepare Quarterly reliability reports, periodical benchmarking reports and submit to the Senior Development and Reliability Engineer for system use
 Participate to Initiate preliminary investigations and formulate a recommendation of corrective and preventive actions for conditions that are above alert limits
 Participate in Continuous monitoring of corrective actions to determine their effectiveness
 Participate in Representing the airlines position on technical issues to respective original equipment manufacturers (OEM) with a view to improve reliability and cost effectiveness
 Participate in Developing ETOPS, MELs and Test Flight Schedules to ensure that they meet the local authority requirements.
 Participate in Creation of technical / economical substantiation for warranty or claim handling.
 Participate to Collate technical disruption data and determine Technical Dispatch Reliability for comparison of Precision Air Services Plc against industry standards
 Participate in Developing Aircraft interior Layout of Passenger Accommodations (LOPA) for different aircraft in Precision Air fleet. During VVIP operations, prepare the VVIP LOPA and have it approved by the Director General of the Tanzania Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA).
 Participation in aircraft, engines & components specifications activities
 Learn Liaison with manufacturers and vendors
 Assist with technical and operational know-how during aircraft test flights, aircraft phase-in and aircraft phase outs.
 Responsible for safety as referenced in the Safety Management Manual [SMM] Doc ref. PW/CM/002.
 Any other duty as assigned by the Supervisor

3. POSITION: APPRENTICE QUALITY ASSURANCE INSPECTOR (1 POST)
REPORTS TO: MANAGER QUALITY ENGINEERING
DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM.

ROLE PURPOSE OF THE STATEMENT
The recruited candidate will undergo training to qualify and be assigned job functions in the Quality Assurance division. The Quality Control Apprentice is assigned a buddy trainer who will teach procedures and process in the Quality Assurance division. She/he will undertake a structured training program of class training and on-job-training in order to gain the required skills and knowledge to support the operational requirements of the Quality Assurance division of an approved maintenance organization, and airline operator.
Once the apprentice is certified / qualified, they will be responsible for compliance with quality systems, performing continuous surveillance to technical activities, processes and systems to ensure compliance with TCAA and Precision Air standards for safe and efficient maintenance of aircraft, components and equipment for optimum airline operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apprentice Quality Assurance Inspector will be assigned to the Quality Assurance Inspector for learning and developing knowledge and skills on the following:-
 Complete a structured apprentice training program over four years theoretical and OJT and acquire TCAA licenses.  Learn various aircraft maintenance requirements, standards and procedures
 Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and processes while under the instruction of Quality Inspectors and skilled technical staff.  Work under the general guidance of a lead or senior level technician and perform maintenance and repair to aircraft, engines, propellers and components in accordance with approved procedures  Learn to determine the airworthiness of airframe and engine components  Learn to Inspect systems for proper operation and condition  Learn to perform random checks at the Hangar, Line Maintenance, Workshops and other sections of the AMO for adherence to the laid down procedures and standards.
 Lear to determine that inspections performed on airframe, engines and components are in accordance with Company Policies and procedures, maintenance manuals and approved technical data
 Learn to monitor workmanship and materials to verify that the Company standards and TCAA regulations are complied with.
 Learn to perform receiving inspections of incoming parts, components, equipment supplies and materials in accordance with the Company Maintenance Procedures Manual (MPM).
 Learn to determine the classification of repairs and alterations in relation to Major or Minor Repairs. Ensure appropriate forms are completed to document any major repair or alteration.
 Learn to monitor/audit aircraft inspection reports, log pages and records for accuracy and completeness of entries prior to being sent to the Aircraft Records Section.
 Learn to conduct daily audits of aircraft work packages including checks/inspections forms, log pages, routines and non-routines tasks, modification orders, etc. to ensure completion, correctness, use of appropriate references to approved data in all entries and forms.
 Monitors the safety and general good housekeeping of the workplace and all related areas.
 Learn to Interact with Technical Records Sections with regards to aircraft records compliance.
 Learn and participate in periodic audit of all Technical Divisions and outstations.
 Learn the use of appropriate tools, equipment, manuals, Techniques and methods for Inspection and maintenance of Aircraft.
 Learn to determine that maintenance work is performed in accordance with the standards and procedures of the Approved Maintenance Schedule.
 Learn to determine that Approved Maintenance Schedules comply with the applicable TCARs, TCAA requirements, and directives from Foreign Airworthiness Authorities if they are applicable to Precision Air Aircraft.
 Learn the issuance of Release Certificates (CRS) after Hangar checks and ensuring that all C of A documents are on board the Aircraft before final release to service.
 Learn to perform proper inspection coverage in areas where airworthiness may be affected such as fuel tanks, compliance with MODs, ADs or SBs, structural repairs, corrosion control, power plant installation, flight control surfaces installation, duplicate inspection, landing gear retraction checks and Engine ground runs.
 Learn and participate in auditing work being done on Aircraft during Hangar checks and ensuring that work is completed and paper work promptly signed and certified soon after each task has been completed.
 Learn to ensure all the maintenance manuals are updated.
 Learn to enforce company standards and Regulations requirements which relate to Airworthiness of Aircraft
 Learn to monitor and support continuous improvement activities by utilizing continuous improvement tools striving to identify and eliminate waste in all its forms in an effort to improve quality and safety, decrease lead time and reduce cost.

4. POSITION: APPRENTICE AIRCRAFT SHEET METAL TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
REPORTS TO: WORKSHOPS MANAGER
DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM.

ROLE PURPOSE OF THE STATEMENT
To undertake a structured training program of class training and on-job-training for Aircraft Structures/sheet metal (Base/Line/workshop) work in order to gain the required skills and knowledge to support the operational requirements of an approved maintenance organization, and airline operator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apprentice Structure/Sheet metal Technician will be assigned to the Senior Sheet metal /Aircraft Structures Technician for learning and developing knowledge and skills on the following:-
 Maintain, modify and install the various components of aircraft sheet metal.
 Perform structural (sheet metal) repairs, modifications, restorations and alterations.
 Repair structures including sheet metal and composite structures.
 Repair, rework, install and fabricate the complex aircraft structural assemblies, both internal and external.
 Lay out plans, fabrication and installation models for modifications.
 Perform checks; carry out inspections and removal of components.
 Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical staff.
 Read and use design/engineering drawings, Technical Manuals and aircraft specifications
 Provide assistance to Aircraft Maintenance Technicians and Duty Control Engineers on various tasks.
 Remove and disassemble defective parts of the aircraft.
 Perform final checks on assembly and installation of parts that were replaced.
 Maintain and keep track of all the maintenance records.
 Stripping, chemical cleaning, repair, and covering of flat panels, bulkheads, and seat panels
 Carry out repair, replacement, overhaul and modification of aircraft components, tools and equipments for optimal turn-around time to ensure continuous availability of serviceable component.
 Comply with safety and housekeeping policies and use personal protective equipment (PPE)as required by Occupational Safety requirements
 Maintain work areas and tools in a clean and organized manner, practices proper tool and FOD control.
 Work with composites, metals and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools, and various power tools

5. POSITION: APPRENTICE AIRCRAFT TECHNICIAN (4 POST)
REPORTS TO: BASE MAINTENANCE MANAGER
DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM.

ROLE PURPOSE OF THE STATEMENT
To undertake a structured training program of class training and on-job-training for Base/Line/workshop work in order to gain the required skills and knowledge to support the operational requirements of an approved maintenance organization, and airline operator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apprentice Aircraft Maintenance Technician will be assigned to the Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician for learning and developing knowledge and skills on the following: -
 Complete a structured apprentice training program over four years theoretical and OJT and acquire TCAA licenses.
 Observing, learning and understanding a wide range of engineering skills and processes while under the instruction of skilled technical staff.
 To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently or with a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the department.
 Learn to read and interprets maintenance manuals, or other technical data to determine the feasibility and method to perform the assigned tasks.
 Learn to inspect aircraft structures and/or aircraft airframe systems and components (such as mechanical flight control, hydraulic and fuel systems) following defined inspection program and utilizing visual inspection techniques or inspection aids (such as precision measuring equipment) as required.
 Learn to replace or repair damaged or worn aircraft structural or dynamic (rotary) components utilizing general hand tools and pneumatic tools and structural repair equipment.
 Learn to perform removal, assembly and replacement of aircraft component or system parts as required.
 Learn to properly document all inspection findings and work performed/corrective action in the appropriate maintenance records to meet established standards.
 Learn to maintain work areas and tools in a clean and organized manner, practices proper tool and FOD control.

6. POSITION: APPRENTICE AIRCRAFT UPHOLSTERY TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
REPORTS TO: WORKSHOPS MANAGER
DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM.

ROLE PURPOSE OF THE STATEMENT
To undertake a structured training program of class training and on-job-training for Aircraft Upholstery (Base/Line/workshop) work in order to gain the required skills and knowledge to support the operational requirements of an approved maintenance organization, and airline operator.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Apprentice Aircraft Upholstery Technician will be assigned to the Senior Upholstery/Aircraft Interior Technician for learning and developing knowledge and skills on the following:-
 Layout and perform interior reconfigurations and repairs.
 Read and use design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications
 Stripping, chemical cleaning, repair, and covering of flat panels, bulkheads, and seat panels
 Work with fabric, vinyl, leather hides, composites, metals and other materials using specified adhesives, sewing equipment, hardware, hand tools, and various power tools
 Cut and surge/over-edge carpets
 Layout and inspect leather hiders defects
 Trace and cut out seat patterns
 Installation of window panels, headliners, upper sidewalls, lower sidewalls, and baggage panels in aircraft
 May sew and upholster covers using designs, engineering drawings, and aircraft specifications
 Work with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop and implement process improvement techniques that increase safety, reduce costs, cycle time, and man-hours
 Ensure protection of aircraft interiors in and outside the aircraft
 Identify and request required parts

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE:
 Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or mechanical engineering
 Vocational training certificate in Engineering from National Council for Technical Education or equivalent qualifications as per the minimum requirements of the relevant discipline, and an OJT in aircraft maintenance.


7. POSITION: APPRENTICE TECHNICAL LIBRARIAN (1 POST)
REPORTS TO: MANAGER TECHNICAL SERVICES
DUTY STATION: DAR ES SALAAM.


ROLE PURPOSE OF THE STATEMENT
To undertake a structured On-Job-Training (OJT) Program to carry out coordination and provision of all Technical Publications required by maintenance personnel and other users in accordance with TCAA regulations and company procedures so as to ensure updated technical publications / documents are available when required.
Upon successful completion of the Program the candidate will gain the required skills and knowledge to support the operational requirements of an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) and Airline Operator(s).

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSBILITIES
 Complete a structured apprentice training program for one (1) year theoretical and OJT and acquire knowledge and skills on Ensuring that the company Technical or Corporate Manuals are kept up to date and circulating manuals as well as other publications to user sections.
 Observing, learning and understanding process of Initiating purchase orders for the required Technical Manuals for use in Maintenance & Engineering.
 To be able to demonstrate these skills and processes as the training period progresses by working independently or with a team, to undertake tasks as instructed and increasing overall contribution to the department.
 Work with Technical Librarian Obtaining amendments and distributing them to the manual holders/users and ensuring that proper cataloguing of manuals and lists of manual holders are maintained.
 Ensuring that renewal fees/charges for technical manuals are correct and paid for when due.
 Recording incoming Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins and other Technical documents and coordinating their circulation.
 Administering publications lending services to members of staff and communicating with the manufacturers and internal users of technical manuals.
 Responsible for safety as referenced in the Safety Management Manual [SMM] Doc ref. PW/CM/002.
 Any other duty as assigned by the Supervisor

 Ordinary National Diploma in Records Management or Librarianship from recognized Institution of Higher learning and at least one year (1) proven experience in Records Management or Library.
OR
Diploma in the relevant Engineering discipline and at least one year (1) proven experience in Technical Records or Technical Library
 Knowledgeable on TCAA regulations
 Very good computer skills
