Tanzania’s
premier airline, Precision Air (DSE: PAL) is resuming its operations into Musoma effective October
20th, 2015, after it had halted the operations for
about 2 years.
According to
Precision air, the move to resume Musoma flights has been triggered by the demand
in the market. Flights have been revived to cater for passengers who had to
drive from Musoma to catch flights in Mwanza.
Precision Air will operate flights to Musoma
every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
This
is great news for the people of Musoma and the travel community at large. Flights to Musoma will
not only stimulate trade in Musoma but also the tourism industry.”
Tanzania
as a country is blessed with ample opportunities in travel trade and tourism
but still a big part of this country remains excommunicated though rich
with tourist attractions.
Musoma
town is located in the eastern edge of Lake Victoria, northern Tanzania, and
counted as tourist hot spot due to its historical attractions, Butiama and the Serengeti.
But for years they lacked air transport infrastructure and this made airlines
to stop operating there.
Precision Air operates an all ATR
aircraft fleet comprised of both the ATR 42 and the larger ATR 72 models which
are well suited to fly in and out of secondary and tertiary airports and
aerodromes.
Precision
Air is a local owned Airline operating daily flights to ten (10) domestic and
regional destinations. Operating from its main hub Dar es Salaam Precision Air
flies to Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Mtwara, Kigoma, Mwanza, Bukoba ,Zanzibar and
regionally flies to Nairobi.
The Musoma route will make it eleven the
number of destinations where the public listed airline flies.
