AIR BOTSWANA OPERATION NOT PARTISAN 
Air Botswana wishes to distance itself from the discussions doing the 
rounds on social media regarding the non-operation of flights to Maun 
during the weekend of 17-19 May 2019 as being politically motivated.
The airline considers this inappropriate and damaging to its image and 
reputation. The decision to rationalize the schedule of the airline is 
purely based on its current resource and capacity constraints. This 
situation, the objective of which is to operate a lean and efficient 
operation, is closely monitored with a view to availing extra capacity 
to our passengers as soon as resources become available.  It is in the 
interest of the airline to fully revert to its schedule, as soon as it 
is practical to do so sustainably.
We wish to commit to our 
valuable passengers that as soon as the Embraer E170 is integrated into 
service, Air Botswana will fully resume its operation and restore its 
schedule integrity. 
Air Botswana has a Board of Directors and 
its decisions are purely commercial and based on sound Corporate 
Governance practices and not on partisan politics.
