AIR BOTSWANA OPERATION NOT PARTISAN
01 May 2019,
PRESS RELEASE
AIR BOTSWANA OPERATION NOT PARTISAN
Air Botswana wishes to distance itself from the discussions doing the
rounds on social media regarding the non-operation of flights to Maun
during the weekend of 17-19 May 2019 as being politically motivated.
The airline considers this inappropriate and damaging to its image and
reputation. The decision to rationalize the schedule of the airline is
purely based on its current resource and capacity constraints. This
situation, the objective of which is to operate a lean and efficient
operation, is closely monitored with a view to availing extra capacity
to our passengers as soon as resources become available. It is in the
interest of the airline to fully revert to its schedule, as soon as it
is practical to do so sustainably.
We wish to commit to our
valuable passengers that as soon as the Embraer E170 is integrated into
service, Air Botswana will fully resume its operation and restore its
schedule integrity.
Air Botswana has a Board of Directors and
its decisions are purely commercial and based on sound Corporate
Governance practices and not on partisan politics.
