Ethiopian first
B787 Dreamliner, dubbed "Africa First" touched down at Julius Nyerere
International Airport on September 11, 2012. Ethiopian is the first airline in
the world outside Japan and ahead of any
airline in the Americas, Europe and the Middle East to operate the
Dreamliner, the most technologically advanced commercial aircraft in the world.
Ethiopian has placed a firm order of 10 Dreamliners and will be receiving 5 of
them before December 2012.
The Dreamliner applies breakthrough technologies
of the 21st century and takes passenger comfort and overall travel experience
to a whole new level.
Ethiopian Dreamliner interior is configured with
24 Cloud Nine business class seats and 245 economy class seats.
- The Cloud Nine is equipped with sleeper seats
while the Economy Class has reclining seats with more legroom and spacious
cabin.
- State of the art on-demand Audio and Video
services with 15.4 inch IFE screens and 85 channels in Cloud Nine and 8.9
inch and 80 different channels in Economy Class, offering an array of
entertainment to passengers of all age.
